Wideopen’s housing and setting
Wideopen combines older village-core housing with more recent estate development, and its position on the edge of open countryside towards Brunswick Village and the wider Northumberland fringe means gardens here often have a bit more room and a slightly different character to inner-city plots, more exposed to open aspect and wind than Newcastle’s denser, more sheltered streets.

New housing has continued to spread through Wideopen and the surrounding fringe over recent years, and we’re seeing more requests for new hedge planting and young tree establishment here than in more built-out parts of Newcastle, alongside the more established trees found on the area’s older plots.
