Heaton’s housing and green spaces
Heaton is a mix of dense Victorian terraces, the well-known Byker Wall estate along its southern edge, and streets closer to Heaton Park with larger gardens and more established trees. The park and its neighbouring green spaces mean a number of Heaton gardens border mature woodland or parkland trees directly, which brings the same considerations as a Jesmond Dene-adjacent garden: overhanging boundary trees, shared root systems, and general upkeep questions between private gardens and the park’s own tree management.

A lot of Heaton’s housing sits on classic Tyneside terraced streets with narrow rear gardens and limited vehicle access, which we’re well used to working around. Where a job needs sectional dismantling rather than open felling because there simply isn’t room for a tree to come down in one piece, this is common ground for us.
